Dickey looks to catch the fish for win No. 19

The Mets and Marlins continue their series to see who will be at the bottom of the league, and today the Mets send out R.A. Dickey in quest for his 19th win of the season. Dickey is 18-6 with a 2.67 ERA while pitching 212.0 innings and striking out 205 batters. He’s 4-0 against the Marlins this year pitching 31.0 innings while only allowing 4 ER. In his last six games he has pitched 43.2 innings with a 1.85 ERA. The Marlins have the following numbers against him:

The Mets will get a look at Mark Buehrle who is 13-12 this season with a 3.78 ERA over 188.1 innings of work. In the month of September he has pitched 21.2 innings while allowing 12 ER and against the Mets this season he is 0-2 with a 3.92 ERA. The Mets have the following numbers against him:

  • LoL, slightly off topic but had to laugh when Keith said to paraphrase that it looks like a bit of a turnout for Dickey today and the camera pans to what are mostly empty seats.

  • That’s nice, let’s bench Ike Davis the day after he hits a HR off a lefty. I can’t take this guy anymore.

  • Well there are more people to see Dickey than usually go….

    Anyone take note how at the deadline we were close to matching last year’s attendance totals but as soon as Sandy gave up the average per game attendance has dropped by more than 2K per game?
