Orange & Blue And All For You, Kid…
Orange and Blue, and all for you, Kid…
Earlier today, New York State senator Marty Golden, announced that the Empire State Building would be lit up with orange and blue lights tonight in honor of Gary Carter.
That’s the view of the Empire State Building from SB Nation’s Rob Neyer that he just posted on Twitter. Isn’t it breathtaking?
Great gesture…

Most beautiful!
LOVE U GARY
That is so cool. Wish I were riding over the 59th St. Bridge tonight!
Rest in Peace Kid.
No higher honor. Thanks Marty for an outstanding salute to a magnificient human being. We love you Gary and Gary’s family.
A spectacular sight for a spectacular individual. Gary Carter epitomizes what every ballplayer should strive to be on and off the field. God bless you, Gary.
How beautiful the city looks tonight – and all for Gary. Blessings to you.
Now that is well done indeed. Well done Senator.
As I’ve said before Gary Carter was not only a great baseball player, but he was a true gentleman. He’s most deserving of the honor.
That’s the wow factor right there, excellent! R.I.P. Gary Carter
That’s awesome! We’ll miss you “Kid”. Rest in Peace.
I love this! I wish I could see it in person. Maybe one day. My prayers to the Carter family.
Thanks for the memories RIP kid, see you in the cornfield…
thanks for the pic! RIP Gary and I hope your example will carry on with the new generation.
‘The measure of a man.’
What a grand gesture for his family and his fans to honor the life of Gary Carter.
Well done, NYC.
God bless u kid. even in death u make the mets relevant.u came 2 nyc said u had a place on your finger 4 a ring and procured one two years later.a hof man and playa.God give your family the strength to deal with your passing.thanks for the memories…a winner all the way. rip.
You were as clutch and as tough as they came, Kid. If it wasn’t for you we’d only have one championship in 50 years instead of two. God bless the late, great number 8.
I think its awesome that they lit the Empire State Bldg. in Mets colors in honor of Gary. This surely is more honorary than some music celebrity being “honored” by flying the flags at half staff.
RIP Gary…you will be missed
lets show some respect for whitney too. once again a met fan looks for a moral victory even in a death. totally classless.try winning on the field of play rather than in the recesses of your twisted little mind.you are as twisted as met ownership loozer.
This was a beautiful thing the city did for Gary Carter. But lets not begrudge Whitney whom I don’t even care for but know she has millions of fans too and those fans are as sad as we are about Gary. Remember Doc Gooden was as addicted to cocaine as Whitney was, probably more so.
