AAA International League: Buffalo 5/8/1, Indianapolis 8/11/0

Dillon Gee was cruising through 4, then he gave up a 4 spot in the 5th, and that cost him the win, and got him a loss. Josh Thole took another 0-fer, he’s down to .167 now on the season.

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 5/6/0, New Hampshire 7/5/1

Michael Antonini had his best outing of the season, he took a 1 hit shutout into the 8th, but after allowing the first two to reach base, he was pulled, and the Mets bullpen imploded from there, allowing both IHR to score (Jose De La Torre), and eventually allowing 7 runs (Torre3, Derrifck Ellison 2 FTL). Antonini ended up with a ND, Ellison took the loss.

The Mets offense had just 6 hits, but drew 5 walks, while going 3 for 8 (.375) with RISP, leaving 6 on base, and striking out 5 times. Kirk Nieuwenhuis, and Luis Hernandez had multi hit games, while Zach Lutz (one of my sources picked him in BeattheStreak yesterday, jinxing him for the second time this season), DJ Wabick, Omir Santos, Carlos Guzman and Jose Coronado all took 0-fers.

cf Kirk Nieuwenhuis 2 for 5, 2 runs, 3b (2), HR (4), 3 RBI (17), .298, SB (10)

Michael Antonini 7 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 1/3 BB/K, 3.97 era, 8:10:3
Jose De La Torre H, 3 ER, 2 BBs, 2.55 era
Derrick Ellison 0.1 IP, H, 2 ER, BB, 5.87 era, BS (1), L (1-1), 0:1
Josh Stinson 1.2 IP, H, 2 Ks, 2.92 era, 1:1:2

Ellison is 31 years old in AA, and while he’s only had 3 horrid outings in 10, there HAVE to be pitchers in the organization who are younger and would benefit from exposure to AA. It’s time to release Ellison.

A+ Florida State League: St. Lucie 6/10/1, Fort Myers 2/10/2

Scott Moviel had a very good outing today, the second straight in which a Met started walked no one. Moviel worked into the 7th, and ended up pitching 6.1 innings, scattering 9 hits and 2 runs (1 earned) for his 2nd win of the season.

The Mets offense had 10 hits and 2 walks, while going just 2 for 11 (.182) with RISP, leaving 6 on and striking out 8 times. Reese Havens, Sean Ratliff and Wilfredo Tovar had multi hit games, while Brahiam Maldonado, Eric Campbell and Jean Luc Blaquiere (0 for 4, run, K, .200) took 0-fers. Yeah, my source had Campbell today.

2b Reese Havens 3 for 5, run, 2b (2), HR (2), 2 RBI (6), .333

Manuel Alvarez 2 IP, H, K, 0.00 era, 2:2:1

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 1/5/0, Lakewood 3/3/0

Brandon Moore had a very good outing today, but the Gnats offense was shut down by 3 Lakewood pitchers, so Moore took a tough loss. Moore allowed 3 runs on 3 hits and a walk with 12 Ks, but his offense had just a run on 5 hits. They were 1 for 3 with RISP and left 4 on base.

cf Pedro Zapata 1 for 4, RBI (8), K, .243
