Mets Place Reliever Pat Misch On Waivers
This just in from Rich Couthino of 1050 ESPN Radio, According to MLB sources Pat Misch was placed on waivers which he needs to clear before the Mets can send him to minors. The problem with that is nobody seems to believe that Misch will clear waivers. Misch had a 2.84 ERA in 18.1 innings last season for the Mets, and after a shaky start he rebounded nicely to give the Mets some solid starts including a [...]

MLB 2010 Predictions from “Vegas Rich”
The final countdown to the beginning of the MLB season has begun in earnest as we are now 6 days from opening night on ESPN where the Yankees face the Red Sox in what looks to me as it should be some of the closes races for all the divisions in recent years. CC Sabathia vs. Josh Beckett should stir even the most casual fans as the Yankees attempt to repeat in 2010. They will [...]

Mets Claim Manny Acosta Off Waivers
The Mets are continuing their effort to create a bullpen. MLB.com reports that the Mets have claimed veteran right-handed reliever Manny Acosta off waivers from the Atlanta Braves. A person familiar with the workings of the Mets said as much on Tuesday. The Braves had hoped to reassign Acosta, 28, to their Minor League camp if he had cleared. The Mets are now expected to do the same. Acosta pitched seven innings in six exhibition game [...]

Will A Full Season of Jose Reyes Lead To A Better Mike Pelfrey?
Yes, it should. We all know that Mike Pelfrey was a big disappointment during the 2009 season. After seeing Pelfrey really turn things around midway through the 2008 season, I really expected him to take it to the next level, but Pelfrey did not and seemingly regressed. Pelfrey’s final line of 10 wins and 5.03 ERA was not what Mets fans wanted to see, but I am here to tell you it wasn’t really as [...]

Relax, It’s Only March
The 2010 season opener is just 6 days away for the Mets. In 6 days the Mets will stop playing Spring Training games and play games that really matter. This Spring hasn’t been a great one. Carlos Beltran didn’t make it to the field, Jose Reyes was sidelined for 3 weeks, and there’s still questions going into the season that have most Met fans worried about 2010 before it even starts. I know the numbers aren’t [...]

Darryl Strawberry…You Are The Weakest Link…GOODBYE!
Boy the last few weeks haven’t been very kind to a few former Metropolitans. Those of you out there who are amongst the millions of reality TV viewers, might have noticed that Darryl Strawberry was among a group of celebrities vying for top billing on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice. Ok I admit I SOMETIMES watch the train wrecks that are reality TV. What can I say I get a slight chuckle in seeing other people [...]

Nationals Claim Chris Coste Off Waivers
According to Brian Costa of the Newark Star-Ledger, the Washington Nationals have claimed catcher Chris Coste after the Mets placed him on waivers this weekend. Coste, 37, hit .224/.301/.317 in 230 plate appearances for the Phillies and Astros last year. After signing with the Mets, Coste made the following comments which understandably ticked many a Mets fan off. “It’s the last team I ever saw myself playing for. I knew I was going to accept it, [...]
