This just in from Rich Couthino of 1050 ESPN Radio,

According to MLB sources Pat Misch was placed on waivers which he needs to clear before the Mets can send him to minors.

The problem with that is nobody seems to believe that Misch will clear waivers.

Misch had a 2.84 ERA in 18.1 innings last season for the Mets, and after a shaky start he rebounded nicely to give the Mets some solid starts including a complete game shutout in his last start of the season.

Misch was having a fantastic spring and was one of the top three performers for the Mets. In seven games he compiled a 1.38 ERA in 13 innings pitched.

I hope he doesn’t become this years version of Darren O’Day who went on to become one of the premier relievers in the AL last season after being waived by the Mets.
