Mike Pelfrey has been diagnosed with forearm tendinitis after an MRI on Tuesday. More on that later on.
Following Perez’s season debut last week in Cincinnati, Mets manager Jerry Manuel said he was still unsure what Perez was capable of giving him. He hopes it’s not what Perez gave him last Thursday: 4 1/3 innings, five walks and eight runs. The lone bright spot was Perez’s seven strikeouts, a sign that his stuff is lively. But he’ll need far better control of it if he wants to shut down his first big league team, the Padres. Perez is 1-3 with a 5.40 ERA against them in seven seasons since leaving San Diego. (Mets.com)

About the Author: Joe DeCaro
Went to my first Mets game, a Mayors Trophy game at Shea, in '73. We beat the Yankees 8-4 and I was hooked. I marched in two Banner Day parades, and before the Grand Slam single, there was the "Hendu Can Do" grand slam - I was there. I've collected Mets memorabilia all my life and started Mets Merized Online to feed my addiction.
