For the first time as a National League team and since 1982, the Milwaukee Brewers are in the World Series. The Tampa Bay Rays, on the other hand, have made it to the Fall Classic far more recently than their NL counterparts, as they lost in six games to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020.

No matter which club ends up taking home the Commissioner’s Trophy, however, it will mark the first World Series title in either franchise’s history. It’s also the first time since 1980 that both teams participating in the Fall Classic has never won it all.

At American Family Field, Brewers ace and the runaway favorite for the NL Cy Young Award, Jacob Misiorowski, will make the Game 1 start for Milwaukee. Tampa Bay, meanwhile, will send out Nick Martinez, who earned the first All-Star nod of his nine-year MLB career this season.
