Boston Baro, the Mets’ eighth-round pick in 2023, went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs for the Surprise Saguaros in Arizona Fall League action on Thursday night. Baro, who missed all but 11 games in 2026 due to injury, is now slashing .227/.452/.364 over 31 plate appearances in the AFL.

Baro was the only Mets prospect to play in Surprise’s 12-11 loss to the Peoria Javelinas, as Cole Mathis and Bruin Agbayani got the day off on the position player side of things while Irving Cota, Peyton Prescott, Ryan Lambert, Brendan Girton and Calvin Ziegler all didn’t pitch.

In the LIDOM, Jefferson Rojas started at third base for the Gigantes del Cibao against the Toros del Este and went 0-for-2. He is now slashing .313/.353/.750 with a pair of home runs and three RBIs across 17 plate appearances.

In the Mexican Pacific Winter League, Marco Vargas started at third base for Yaquis de Obregon against Venados de Mazatlán. He went 0-for-4 and is batting .259/.310/.296 over 29 plate appearances.

Luis Torrens and Francisco Alvarez, meanwhile, are both on the Navegantes del Magallanes’ preliminary roster in the Venezuelan Winter League.

Navegantes del Magallanes and Tiburones de La Guaira will face off in a two-game series at loanDepot Park in Miami from November 14 – November 15, with a portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold going to earthquake relief efforts in Venezuela.
