Infielder Wilmer Flores was activated from the 10-day disabled list and has rejoined the team for tonight’s game in Atlanta. To make room for him on the roster, LHP Sean Gilmartin was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Flores, 25, was on the disabled list since April 21 due to a knee infection. He told reporters he had been dealing with a staph infection which might have required surgery had it not improved.
Meanwhile it looks like outfielder Brandon Nimmo, who has been out all season due to a hamstring injury, will remain at Triple-A Las Vegas once he’s activated from the DL.

Infielder Wilmer Flores and outfielder Brandon Nimmo are moving on in their rehab assignments from Single-A St. Lucie to Triple-A Las Vegas where each will be reunited with their former skipper Pedro Lopez.
Flores, 25, was 3-for-8 (.375) with four runs scored, one double, one home run and two RBI in two rehabilitation games with St. Lucie. He was placed on the 10-day disabled list on April 21 with a serious knee infection and is now eligible to be activated.
Nimmo, 24, batted .222 (4-18) with four runs scored, one homer and four RBI in five rehabilitation games with St. Lucie. The former first-rounder injured his hamstring while playing in the World Baseball Classic. He has yet to appear in a game this season.
While Flores can expect to be activated in the next few days, it’s not known where Nimmo would fit in on the big league roster.
