The team announced that Vic Black has been diagnosed with a herniated disk in the right side of his neck after undergoing an MRI on his neck and shoulder this morning.

The herniated disk is what was causing the weakness in his triceps, according to team doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

The plan is for Black to undergo therapy and then he will be reexamined in one week.

Sandy Alderson announced that right-handed reliever Vic Black is heading to the hospital for an MRI of his neck and shoulder.

Sandy said that Black continues to deal with the same neck and shoulder soreness that shelved him this Spring and resulted in him starting the season on the disabled list.

It was apparent something was wrong when his velocity during his outing at Binghamton last night was down about 10-12 mph.

This doesn’t sound good said one Mets spokesman.
