In December, I discussed the article in The Athletic called “The Passion of Mike Piazza” which chronicled Robert Andrew Powell’s story about the demise of the A.C. Reggiana Italian soccer team under the Hall-of-Fame catcher’s watch.

Today, Alicia Piazza, former VP of the team and Mike’s wife, gives the Piazza’s version of the story.

She discusses the state of soccer in Italy, their attempts to save the franchise in the face of significant financial losses, and the disappointments they both experienced along the way.

Please enjoy.
