According to our sources, right-handed pitcher Marcus Stroman has accepted the qualifying offer from the Mets. The qualifying offer for the 2021 is valued at $18.9 million.

Stroman, 29, had his 2020 season delayed due to an injury and then on Aug. 10 he decided to opt-out of the shortened season due to COVID-19 concerns.

The New York native came over to the Mets organization in July of 2019 when the Mets sent pitching prospects Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods Richardson to the Blue Jays.

Stroman went 4-2 with a 3.71 ERA, 4.15 FIP, and 9.1 K/9 in 59 innings for the Mets in 2019.
