Per Will Sammon of the Athletic Luis Robert Jr. is generating preliminary interest heading into the trade deadline. Despite missing two months on the injured list, Robert Jr. still has value as a plus defensive center fielder with a high power ceiling, as shown by his 112 miles per hour home run in his second game off the injured list.
It is unclear if the Mets are interested in taking up his 2027 option or if they would pay down any of his salary. His second half performance would likely be the determining factor if he is not traded.
The Phillies are listed as a team that could consider trading for Robert Jr. as they need help in center field and need a right-handed outfielder. This is similar to 2025 when they traded for Harrison Bader.
