He will soon join the Mets’ front office as a special advisor to the Chief Operating Officer (Jeff Wilpon) and GM (Brodie Van Wagenen). Here’s to hoping he can convince Van Wagenen that blowing up the farm system is a bad idea.

Jeff Wilpon issued a statement on Wright’s new position.
