Morning Briefing: Wheeler Takes the Hill Again

Good morning, Mets fans!

Another day, another Mets game. Today, Zack Wheeler is taking the mound for the New York Mets against Daniel Ponce de Leon and the St. Louis Cardinals. Slated for a 1:10 start, you can catch this game on MLB.TV through Fox Sports Midwest or you can listen on the radio on WCBS 880.

Yesterday, the New York Mets lost a tough one 8-7 against the Houston Astros. Noah Syndergaard struggled with command, giving up five walks and an unearned run over 2.2 innings of work. Edwin Diaz made his first appearance of the spring, pitching an inning with two walks.

Jeurys Familia made his second appearance of the spring, pitching an inning and giving up two earned runs. Michael Conforto and Wilson Ramos both hit home runs, the former a solo shot and the latter a grand slam.

Travis d’Arnaud will DH today and tomorrow, making his first appearances in a game since undergoing Tommy John surgery in April of last season.
