He will be opposed by Jose Urena (3-11, 4.66 ERA) who is coming off a start where he gave up eight hits, two walks, and six runs in five innings. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. EDT and the game will be broadcast on SNY and 710 WOR.

Ben Cherington told Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe that while he loves his job as VP of player development with the Toronto Blue Jays, he is open to other opportunities. He has been recently connected to the Mets and their soon-to-be-vacant general manager position.

Jacob deGrom‘s 10-strikeout performance on Wednesday was his 27th career outing with 10 or more strikeouts. That is good for 5th-most in Mets history according to Baseball Reference.

Mets’ radio broadcaster Josh Lewin recently launched a website called OkayTogether.com that tackles the tough topics of anxiety and depression which Lewin himself has struggled with in his life.

Bartolo Colon wants to surpass Juan Marichal‘s record for most innings pitched by a Dominican-born player (3,507 innings) according to Levi Weaver of The Athletic. That means it’s possible that he may pitch in 2019 as well.

Brandon Sneed of Bleacher Report wrote about how Kate Upton was able to help turn Justin Verlander‘s career around after injuries and depression nearly derailed it.
