Mike Puma of the New York Post reported Saturday with updates on all of the Mets’ starting pitchers and mentioned that Tylor Megill has developed a split-fingered fastball. Megill began toying with the pitch towards the end of the 2023 season and has been working on it while working out at Push Performance in Phoenix. Puma also reported that Luis Severino plans on throwing more intensely before arriving at camp and that Adrian Houser has been throwing bullpen sessions under the guidance of Jeremy Hefner.

Jon Heyman of the New York Post that the Mets are looking to add a left-handed arm to their bullpen, and are particularly interested in Wandy Peralta. The former Yankee has posted a sub-3 ERA in each of the last three seasons and has been tough on left-handed hitters.

MLB Network ranked Kodai Senga as the second-best rookie in the NL from the 2023 season, trailing only Corbin Carroll. Senga finished second in NL Rookie of the Year voting, also as the runner-up to the speedy Carroll.

When Bud Harrelson passed away, tributes poured in from all angles to honor the beloved Mets’ shortstop. Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News wrote about Harrelson’s legacy.

The Tigers became the latest team to lock up a top prospect on an extension, signing Colt Keith to a six-year contract worth $28.6 million. MLB Pipeline’s 22nd-ranked prospect, Keith tore up the minor leagues in 2023, batting .306/.380/.552 with 27 homers, 38 doubles, and 101 RBIs in 577 plate appearances between Double-A and Triple-A.

The Mariners signed Cole Tucker to a minor league contract with an invite to major league spring training. A former first-round pick, Tucker went 4-for-8 in the majors for the Rockies in 2023 and hit .280/.391/.407 in 321 plate appearances for Triple-A Albuquerque.

The Marlins revealed two new jerseys on Sunday, one of which is an aquatic blue color and the other being black. Jake Burger and Luis Arraez were at loanDepot Park to show off the new threads.

Murphy homered in a record-setting six straight games in the NLDS and NLCS, winning series MVP in the latter, leading the Mets to the World Series. He made two All-Star Games with the Nationals but has seen his career derailed by injuries in recent years.
