The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to join them when they play the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at 8:09 p.m. EDT. The game will feature Hyun-Jin Ryu (7-3, 1.97 ERA) for the Dodgers and Wade Miley (5-2, 2.57 ERA) for the Brewers.

This Day in Mets History

1986: The Mets dropped Game 2 of the World Series to the Red Sox by a score of 9-3. Dwight Gooden got roughed up in the game as he gave up eight hits, six runs (five earned) and two walks.

1999: The Mets fell to the Braves by a score of 10-9 in Game 6 of the NLCS. Kenny Rogers handed over the series and National League pennant to Atlanta by forcing in the winning run via base on balls with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th inning.

2006: Despite a miraculous catch earlier in the game by Endy Chavez, the Mets dropped Game 7 of the NLCS to the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 3-1. Carlos Beltran had a chance to tie or win the game in the bottom of the ninth, but instead struck out looking to end the game.
