Baseball lost a legend on Tuesday. Brooks Robinson, an 18-time All-Star, 16-time Gold Glove recipient, and one of the greatest to ever man the hot corner, died on Tuesday at the age of 86. Robinson won two World Series with the Baltimore Orioles, the only team he ever played for. He was the 1964 Most Valuable Player and was the World Series MVP in 1970, a year where he hit .485 in the playoffs.

The opening game of the Mets’ three-game series against the Marlins was postponed due to field conditions. As a result, a doubleheader will be played today, with first pitch being at 4:10 p.m. Anyone who had a ticket to Tuesday’s game will get a voucher for a comparable ticket for the final week of this season or the first two months of next season. 

From November 10-12, the two winningest teams in the history of the Dominican Winter League (LIDOM), Los Tigres del Licey and Las Águilas Cibaeñas, will face off in a three-game set at Citi Field billed as “The Titans of the Caribbean.” Just last season, rookie infielder Ronny Mauricio took home LIDOM MVP while helping Licey win the league title. Tickets for the series can be purchased at Mets.com/Dominican.

On Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic speculated the bidding war for Shohei Ohtani would conclude in a standoff between two teams: the Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

On “The Show,” a podcast with Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman, former Mets outfielder Mark Canha touched on a number of opportunities. He discussed his trade to the Brewers, sang the praises of Pete Alonso, and disagreed with Tommy Pham’s recent comments of the Mets position players being the “least hard-working” group he’s played with. 1983: Mookie Wilson became the franchise’s all-time stolen base leader in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. In the same inning he got the record, he swiped third base. Jose Reyes would later take his record.

2012: With a 6-5 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates, the R.A. Dickey won the 20th game of his Cy Young campaign. He was the sixth pitcher in franchise history to reach the mark.
