Good Morning Mets fans!

Nearly 3 1/2 years after the MLB elevated Negro Leagues’ statistics to “Major League ” status, Negro League records will be incorporated into the MLB’s historical records, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported Tuesday.

The incorporated stats are from 1920-1948.

With the records being incorporated, Hall of Fame catcher Josh Gibson becomes the all-time leader in batting average, slugging percentage and OPS.

Gibson, a two-time Triple Crown winner, has the single-season record for these stats as well.
