Morning Briefing: Mets Set For Doubleheader After Two Straight Rainouts

The Mets-Braves game scheduled for Sunday was postponed due to inclement weather. It will be played as a doubleheader Monday with Game 1 to begin at 1:10 p.m., and Game 2 scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

Per Justin Toscano of AJC, the Atlanta Braves will pitch Spencer Strider in Game 1 of this afternoon’s doubleheader between the Mets and Braves; Charlie Morton will pitch in Game 2 against the Mets. The Mets will be countering with Denyi Reyes and Tylor Megill, respectively.

According to Tim Healey of Newsday Sports, the Mets demoted Jose Butto to Triple-A Syracuse. As of Sunday, they had not announced a countermove as to who will replace him on the Mets’ roster.
