Foltynewicz is enjoying a career-best campaign, sitting fifth in the National League with his 2.31 ERA and 88 strikeouts. The game will be on SNY and 710 WOR at 7:35 p.m.

The Mets will skip Jason Vargas‘s turn in the rotation this time around and will instead have Wheeler and Jacob deGrom match up against the Braves.

After Sunday’s game, the Mets made a flurry of roster moves. They released Adrian Gonzalez and will DFA Jose Lobaton. Replacing them on the roster will be Dominic Smith and Ty Kelly.

Three Mets were featured on Fangraphs‘ ranking of the top 131 MLB prospects.

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports that Asdrubal Cabrera is not expected to go on the DL. He was removed from Sunday night’s game with a hamstring issue.

According to MetsMerizedOnline’s Jacob Resnick, No. 6 overall pick in this year’s draft, Jarred Kelenic, will start his pro career with the GCL Mets. Third base prospect Mark Vientos will, surprisingly, stick at Kingsport to begin 2018.

Resnick also reports that the Mets and undrafted free agent pitcher Andrew Ryan have agreed to terms on a minor-league deal.

Double-A Binghamton will host a “Bobby Valentine Day” on Aug. 19.

On the heels of a dominant week, Justin Dunn earned a spot on MLB.com’s Prospect Team of the Week list.
