Good morning, Mets fans!
On Tuesday, the Mets fell into an immediate hole when Kodai Senga struggled through the first inning, walking the first two hitters before Sal Stewart launched a three-run homer. Spencer Steer added another homer later in the frame, putting New York down 4–0 before its offense had time to settle in.
The Mets kept chipping away. Bo Bichette’s RBI single in the third and Mark Vientos’ two-run homer in the sixth cut the deficit to 5-3. However, they missed chances with runners on in the fourth and eighth, and Cincinnati’s bullpen kept the late rally from turning into anything bigger. The Mets ended up dropping the game, 5-3.
New York will look to avoid a series sweep today in the finale. Nolan McLean (3-4, 4.01 ERA) will face off against Nick Lodolo (2-1, 5.21 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 12:40 p.m. ET on SNY.

The Mets open strong, jumping out to a 2-0 first-inning lead behind Mookie Wilson, Kevin Mitchell, and Gary Carter. After that, New York’s offense stalls, and Bruce Berenyi’s wildness lets Montreal work its way back into the game. The Mets have some late chances to come back, but key outs on the bases and a game-ending double play lead to a frustrating 4-2 loss.
