Jonah Tong could be called up to start for the Mets next week in Miami, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post. Tong has been excellent lately for Triple-A Syracuse, allowing just two runs with 23 strikeouts and 10 walks in 21 1/3 innings since August 11.
The Mets are off today, giving Nick Morabito an extra day to celebrate a memorable Wednesday night. The 23-year-old picked up his first major league hit, a three-run double, to help the Mets beat the AL-leading Tampa Rays 10-4 and take the series. MMO’s David Melendi had the full game recap.
