Good morning, Mets fans!
Jacob deGrom made his third rehab outing Thursday for Syracuse. He threw 42 pitches over four innings, striking out four while allowing only two hits.

The most interesting part of this outing was that Mets top prospect Francisco Álvarez had the pleasure of catching deGrom. Many have their eye on Álvarez in 2o22, as his future as a big leaguer creeps nearer. He already has been able to catch Max Scherzer in a rehab start, who gave the young catcher high praise.
DeGrom said in his postgame interview that Álvarez was “a good target back there.”
The Mets beat up on the Cubs on Thursday night in a 8-0 win in the first game of a four-game series.
