Good morning, Mets fans!

Former Met and native New Yorker Harrison Bader signed a two-year contract with the San Fransisco Giants, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.  The deal, pending physical, is worth $20.5 million, with incentives taking it to $21 million, via Jon Heyman of the NY Post. 

Bader is coming off of arguably the best season of his career. In 2025, he posted a 3.9 WAR, 17 home runs and a slash line of .277/.347/.449. 

Once traded from Minnesota to Philadelphia, Bader was the most productive he has ever been from the plate. In the postseason, he played in three of four games in the NLDS against the Dodgers including an RBI in Game 1 and a single in Game 2.

Bader will look to continue his stellar play out west in 2026.

Greg Zumach of the Players Tribune reported that after ambiguity about whether the Cubs would sign Dylan Carlson with Chas McCormick and Justin Dean in the organization, the Cubs are signing Carlson to an MiLB deal with a spring training invite.

The Braves announced that they claimed LHP José Suarez off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles and designated RHP George Soriano for assignment.

Joe Ryan and the Twins have settled on a $6.2 million deal to avoid arbitration via Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. Ryan will receive $6.1 million in 2026, with a mutual $13 million option for 2027 ($100,000 buyout).
 
The Angels have signed RH reliever Nick Sandlin to a minor league deal with a spring training invite, via Jeff Fletcher of SoCal. Sandlin, 29, pitched in 19 games with Toronto last season with a 2.20 ERA. He has a career 3.19 ERA in parts of five MLB seasons.
 
MLB announced that Nolan Arenado has been added to Team Puerto Rico. The six-time Platinum Glove winner will take part in his third World Baseball Classic.
