Morning Briefing: Gooden, Strawberry's Legacies Etched in Mets History

In other exciting news, the Mets on Thursday announced that Darryl Strawberry’s and Dwight Gooden’s numbers of No. 18 and 16, respectively, will be retired next season. After a day off, the Mets will begin a series against the struggling Los Angeles Angels Friday night at 7:10 p.m. ET. The Angels have lost four in a row, while the Mets are coming off a series loss to the Atlanta Braves.
