Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports that Edwin Díaz has progressed to throwing from the base of the mound as he continues to rehab from a torn patellar tendon. DiComo reports that Díaz could progress to throwing from the pitching rubber as soon as a week from now.

Rafael Ortega and Jeff McNeil both collected three hits, and the Mets scored six times in the fifth inning to salvage the series finale against the Braves, 7-6. Kodai Senga allowed a bases-clearing double to Marcell Ozuna in the first inning but settled down and retired 17 of the last 19 batters he faced, including 13 in a row at one point.

The Mets welcome the Pirates to town for a three-game series beginning this evening. Carlos Carrasco (3-6, 6.42 ERA) will look to build off his solid start against the Cubs, where he allowed just two runs and three hits in five innings. The Pirates have yet to announce a starter. Back in June, the Pirates took two of three games from the Mets at PNC Park. Last September, the Mets swept Pittsburgh in a four-game series at Citi Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
