Good morning, Mets fans!
Last week’s matchup of Noah Syndergaard and Justin Verlander will happen once more. Last week, Verlander shut down the Mets for two innings and Syndergaard, despite allowing several hits, managed to hold the Astros off the board as well. Today’s game can be viewed on MLB Network at 1:10 p.m. Mets big offseason acquisition, Edwin Diaz, is slated to make his Mets and spring debut.
Yesterday, Jacob deGrom twirled three scoreless frames and the quintet of Robert Gsellman, Seth Lugo, Eric Hanhold, and P.J. Conlon all contributed scoreless outings. Meanwhile, Amed Rosario continued his hot spring with a leadoff homer. Dominic Smith tallied three hits while Gavin Cecchini scored twice. Devin Mesaraco and Dario Pizzano also went deep.
