
Good morning Mets Fans! Last night, the Baseball Writers’ Association of America named its selected winners for the Managers of the Year.
Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker was named the National League Manager of the Year, earning 17 of the 30 first-place votes. Snitker was the only manager named on every ballot. Craig Counsell of the Brewers took second place in the National League voting.
Bob Melvin of the Oakland Athletics was named the American League Manager of the Year, his third time earning the award. Melvin took home 18 of the 30 first-place votes. Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora earned a second-place finish. No manager appeared on every ballot.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Chicago White Sox are looking to trade Avisail Garcia. The White Sox may elect to non-tender the right fielder if they can not find a suitable trade partner. Garcia slashed .236/.281/.438 and was worth 0.3 bWAR this season.
Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that Major League Baseball will start an elite summer youth league with 80 of the nation’s best high school players.
