The Mets extended their win streak to five with their defeat of the Dodgers Friday night. It’s been quite the turnaround for New York, who started their season 0-5 and looked like one of the worst offensive teams in the league. Since then, the Mets have won 11 of 14 games and look comfortable after their miserable start to the season. The Mets have a chance to win the series with the Dodgers if they grab a win on Saturday.
Following the game, Carlos Mendoza expressed concern over the left thumb of Francisco Álvarez, who exited the game early after appearing to injure his thumb stumbling during a turn for second base. He underwent an MRI after Friday’s game to determine the severity.

The Mets (11-8) defeated the Dodgers (12-10) 9-4 on Friday. Reed Garrett collected his third win of the season, while DJ Stewart went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Francisco Lindor also hit his second home run of the season to break a 4-4 tie, a huge moment for the struggling Lindor.
The Mets unveiled their City Connect uniforms on Friday. The uniforms were inspired by the subway system, diversity, and the Queensboro bridge. Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor had a hand in creating them.
According to Carlos Mendoza, David Peterson is about a week away from beginning a minor league rehab assignment. He has yet to pitch in 2024.
