Super Bowl LV, or the 55th Super Bowl, is happening this Sunday, February 7. The Kansas City Chiefs will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who for the first time in Super Bowl history, will be playing at their home stadium. Leave it to Tom Brady to accomplish that, right?
This Super Bowl is different for a couple of reasons. As your resident Patriots-Mets fan, it’s a weird one for me but I know none of you want to hear about that (also, please don’t hate me). It’s also weird in the same sense the World Series this past year was weird — it’s the cumulation of a different, pandemic-ridden season. But, we made it. And that’s in part because of the first responders, who have been out there, on the front lines fighting, for almost a year now. The NFL is doing the right thing and has given out 7,500 free Super Bowl tickets to vaccinated health care workers . So we will be seeing some fans in the stadium, and they definitely deserve to be there.
The game will be on CBS at 6:30 PM EST.
