According to Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News, the Mets are “out” on free agent center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. following their tentative deal with Albert Almora Jr.

It was reported that the Mets had seemingly pivoted their attention to Bradley after Trevor Bauer signed with the Dodgers, in an attempt to fill a hole out in center.

However, the former Red Sox center fielder was reportedly seeking a hefty contract – one that could potentially go beyond four years. This comes after an initial prediction from MLB Trade Rumors of a two-year contract worth $16M per year. It would not be out of the realm of possibility that said high demands led to the Mets’ choice of Almora over Bradley to fill that need in center.
