The Mets announced they have added shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio to their 60-player pool, it was reported on Monday morning by Jacob Resnick.

Rene Rivera was transferred to the 45-day injured list as he needs surgery to remove a bone spur in his left elbow.

The Mets went 1-6 with runners in scoring position yesterday. Overall, the team is batting .207/.296/.324 with RISP this season. That average is last in the majors. New York’s 250 plate appearances with RISP rank second in the majors and leads the NL.
