According to our own Jacob Resnick, the Mets have added top prospect Ronny Mauricio to their 60-player pool.

The Mets transferred catcher Rene Rivera to the 45-day injured list to make room in the player pool. He will be eligible to come off the IL on September 13.

Mauricio, 19, slashed .268/307/.357 in 504 plate appearances for the Class-A Columbia Fireflies in 2019.

The switch-hitting shortstop was ranked as high as No. 48 in pre-2020 Top 100 prospect rankings.

Mauricio joins recently added top prospects right-handed pitcher Matthew Allan and catcher Francisco Alvarez.

The Mets player pool is now full at 60.
