The New York Mets will play two split-squad games today against two division rivals. At 1:05 PM, Zack Wheeler will face Tom Koehler and the Miami Marlins at Roger Dean Stadium. The game will unfortunately not be broadcasted on TV or radio.

At 1:10 PM, Seth Lugo and the other half of the Mets will welcome Max Scherzer and the Washington Nationals to First Data Field in a game that will be broadcasted on 710 WOR radio.

Zack Wheeler looks to build on his last spring appearance in which he pitched well for two innings before being hit around a bit in the third. He was throwing hard to quell some health concerns, however his command left something to be desired. So far this spring he has gone 0-2 with a 8.59 ERA and 1.91 WHIP with four strikeouts in 7.1 innings.

Seth Lugo makes his triumphant return from the World Baseball Classic in which he pitched for the runner-up Puerto Rican team. With the recent developments involving Steven Matz‘s elbow, having Lugo to provide insurance is huge. He faces the division rival Nationals today in a game that will surely be a tryout for him.

Tim Tebow is back in the lineup today and will face the reigning NL Cy Young winner. While Scherzer is battling a finger injury and isn’t his dominant self, the world will surely explode if Tebow tallies a base hit. Stay tuned!
