The New York Mets and Arizona Diamondacks close out the first half of the season with a three game series at Citi Field.

Mets rookie Noah Syndergaard (3-4, 3.38) opposes right-hander Chase Anderson (4-2, 3.71) in Friday’s 7:10 p.m. ET series opener.

Jonathon Niese on an extra day of rest reportedly will handle Sunday’s first-half finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He originally had not been scheduled to pitch in the series.

Michael Cuddyer, who had started only two of the previous eight games because of a balky left knee, returns to the lineup.

Danny Muno has been promoted with Steven Matz headed to the disabled list.
