Zack Wheeler got the loss, pitching 5 innings in his final start of the year. He gave up 3 runs, all in the 4th inning, striking out 7 and walking 3. Although Wheeler gave up 3 runs he only surrendered 4 hits.

The Nationals scored 3 runs in the 4th inning without a single RBI hit. One run scored on a fielders choice, another on a passed ball and a third on a hit by pitch.
