Francisco Álvarez made his Triple-A debut on Monday, singling and driving a run in the process. All of the Mets’ minor-league affiliates played Monday due to the July 4 holiday. All teams’ typical weekly off day will be Tuesday.

Francisco Álvarez batted second in his Triple-A debut and drove in a run with an RBI single in the fifth inning. He’d finish the night 1-for-3 with a walk. He also threw out a runner trying to steal second base.
It was Gosuke Katoh, however, who’d power the Mets’ offense Monday. The 27-year-old second baseman opened the scoring with a two-run home run in the second inning before adding a double in the seventh. Katoh is 5-for-14 to start July with a double and two home runs.
Travis Jankowski played centerfield and hit leadoff in a rehab start, going 1-for-2 with a stolen base.

Connor Grey took the win allowing two runs while scattering five hits and two walks over five innings. The win is Grey’s first since May 25.
Bryce Montes de Oca faced five batters, issuing just a walk and striking out three. The hard-throwing right-hander has struck out seven in his last three innings.
Stephen Nogosek allowed his first earned run since he was optioned on June 10 (seven innings) but still earned his fourth save of the year.

The Rumble Ponies scored three runs on six hits as they dropped the series opener to the Portland Sea Dogs.
Brett Baty logged a pair of singles to extend his hitting streak to five games. Baty has gone 8-for-17 with two doubles and two home runs in that span.
Matt Winaker recorded his first multi-hit game of the season as he went 2-for-3 with a walk.

The Cyclones mustered just one run on three hits in Monday’s loss to Aberdeen.
Alex Ramirez and Stanley Consuegra went a combined 0-for-9 in their debuts in Brooklyn. Nic Gaddis would score the Cyclone’s lone run on a wild pitch in the fourth inning.

Jeffrey Colon earned the win in relief, his first of the year, allowing just two hits while racking up eight strikeouts over 5.1 scoreless innings.
Trey McLoughlin pitched the final two innings to preserve the shutout win while earning his first save of the year.
