According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, the Milwaukee Brewers have acquired shortstop Willy Adames from the Tampa Bay Rays.

Adames, 25, is hitting just . 197/.254/.371 with five home runs and 15 RBIs in 41 games this season for the Rays. He does have a career 103 OPS+ and coming off a career-best 127 OPS+ in 2020.

The right-handed hitter has been strong defensively this season with two defensive runs saved. He has 12 defensive runs saved at shortstop since 2019.

In return, the Rays will get right-handers relievers Drew Rasmussen and J.P. Feyereisen according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. The Rays will also send right-hander Trevor Richards to the Brewers.

The Rays have the best prospect in baseball, shortstop Wander Franco, currently in Triple-A with a .867 OPS.
