Where are all the Mets fans who couldn’t wait to unload Mike Pelfrey in the off season? I’ll tell you where they are… scratching their heads and staring at their TV’s every time he takes the mound and exclaiming "OMG, I’m so glad Omar didn’t trade him!"

Don’t feel so bad, I used to be one of those impatient Mets fans myself! (Please forgive me Big Pelf!)

Pelfrey’s meteoric rise has struck a cord into our hearts. In his last five starts he has been nothing short of fantastic!

Ken Davidoff of Newsday points out that Mike Pelfrey has a 1.82 ERA in his last four starts, has allowed only one run in his last 16 innings and hasn’t given up a home run in 10 starts since May 21.

Amazing!

Hey even Carlos Beltran jumped on the Pelfrey bandwagon last night…

"The past month, he’s been unbelievable for us. Every time he takes the mound, I feel we have a chance to win the ballgame. That’s how well he’s been pitching. And he’s just a young guy that is really becoming the pitcher that everyone thought he was going to be."

It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited about a Mets homegrown pitcher… I may even start forgetting about the Scott Kazmir trade… Thanks Pelf!
