It may not have been the shot heard round’ the world, but it certainly was the shot heard round’ the bay. Last night, with arguably the best pitcher in the National League on the mound in Tim Lincecum, the Mets made short order of him in the first inning on this Carlos Beltran blast. It was the 250th homerun of Beltran’s career and it would provide all the scoring the Mets would need as they win their 4th straight game and move into second place.
