The long-awaited Tom Seaver statue is finally at Citi Field in full display for Mets fans to see. The statue honoring the Franchise was unveiled on Friday morning with Tom’s wife Nancy, and their two daughters present at the podium.

Mets long-time radio broadcaster, and former colleague of Seaver, Howie Rose was the mc for the great event. “Tom is our sunshine,” Rose Said.

Former Mets catcher Mike Piazza also spoke before the statue was unveiled. “Nancy, Tom will always be the best Met. Period, ” Piazza said.

The statue was created by famed sculptor William Behrends. The Seaver statue weights 3,200 pounds, is 10 feet tall, and is 13 and half feet long.

Tom Seaver’s grandsons, Thomas and Tobin will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Friday as well.
