The New York Mets have announced the following players to minor league contracts with invitations to major league spring camp:

ROBERT STOCK

Robert Stock returns to the Mets’ minor league after pitching for the Mets in 2021. He has split time in the majors between the Padres and Red Sox, pitching in Boston in 2025 alongside Nick Burdi, who the Mets also signed. He also pitched for the Long Island Ducks in 2023 and Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos of the Mexican League.

Similar to Burdi, the Red Sox had Stock drop his arm angle, going from a 36-degree angle when he last pitched in the majors in 2021 to a 6-degree angle. This completely changed his movement profile, leading to significantly more swings and misses.

Reminder that the Mets new pitching coach is coming from the Boston Red Sox organization.

NICK BURDI

Nick Burdi pitched in the Pirates, Cubs and Yankees organizations before he joined the Red Sox in 2025.

While in Boston, he dropped his arm angle from 24 24-degree angle to a 14-degree angle, reinventing himself as a slider and sinker-heavy pitcher. This led to more break and better chase and whiff rates overall. In 2025 Nick pitched to a 2.83 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 35 innings in AAA and pitched 5.1 scoreless innings in the majors.

It should be noted that new Mets pitching coach Justin Willard was the Red Sox director of pitching for the last couple of years. Stock and Burdi surely came at his recommendation.

ANDERSON SEVERINO

Anderson Severino debuted for the White Sox in 2022 at the age of 27 after splitting his career between their minor league system and the Yankees’ minor league system. He throws a four-seam fastball, a slider, a changeup and a curveball. He spent the 2025 season pitching for Acereros de Monclova in the Mexican League, where he posted a 2.68 ERA and 1.297 WHIP.

JOSE RAMOS

Jose Ramos has been a part of the Dodgers system since 2019. In 2025 in AA, he slashed .295/.359/.557/.916 in 44 games. He profiles as a corner outfielder with good raw power but a low swing that has led to contact issues. He struck out 51 times in 167 plate appearances in 2025.
