Looks like the Mets just signed first baseman Chris Garcia to a minor league deal. Garcia, who you could follow at @ChrisGarcia2424, announced the news on Twitter.
The 26-year old Brooklyn, New York native missed the entire 2013 season due to injury, but batted .285/.408/.431 in 411 AB with the Single-A affiliate of the Braves in 2012.
Overall, Garcia is a .330 hitter in six minor league seasons with a .435 OBP and a .929 OPS.
Chris went to Xaverian High School and appears to be a big Walking Dead fan which makes him ok in my book.
Welcome to the Mets!
