A decision on New York Mets right-handed Matt Harvey has been made.

According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, New York has moved the former ace to the bullpen.

Harvey, 29, went 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA for New York this year. He has struggled since 2016, where he was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome.

Mets left-hander Jason Vargas will likely replace Harvey in the rotation once he returns from injury, likely around the time of the series in San Diego.

“He kind of told us he’s pissed off right now and motivated to show everybody that he can be a starter,” Manager Mickey Callaway said of Harvey.

The right-hander will be available out of the bullpen starting Tuesday.
