In addition to the 40-man additions of righties Scott Copeland and Tim Peterson, the Mets will be promoting left-hander Buddy Baumann from Triple-A Las Vegas ahead of tonight’s 7:35 p.m. game against the Braves at Suntrust Park, per Andy Martino.

Baumann last appeared in a rainy 12-1 blowout against the Toronto Blue Jays on May 16, allowing three earned runs on a homer while striking out three batters in two innings.

In 7.1 innings with the 51s, Baumann has pitched to a 2.45 ERA and 1.364 WHIP, striking out 11 per nine innings but also averaged 6.1 walks in that span.

Aside from Jerry Blevins, Baumann is the only lefty on the 40-man roster with bullpen experience. No corresponding moves have been announced with respect to the three additions in the bullpen as tonight’s contest looms.

One can anticipate options being used on both Jacob Rhame and Gerson Bautista, although little is clear at the moment regarding the third spot. Steven Matz is a possible candidate to land on the 10-day disabled list, while Juan Lagares will likely be transferred to the 60-day to create one of the two necessary 40-man roster spots.

We will keep you posted as updates come in.
