The Syracuse Mets staged a late rally and Brandon McIlwain drew a bases-loaded walk to win the game. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are still on break after defeating the Somerset Patriots in the Eastern League semi-finals.

Syracuse hitters walked seven times on the day, led by McIlwain and his four walks. Wyatt Young went 3-for-5 and has slashed .241/.339/.370/.709 in September. Jaylen Palmer may not have homered, but he did record a double and raise his OPS to .969.

Today was a bullpen day, and overall the pitching held up. Vinny Nittoli had a great open and remains unscored upon in the month of September.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies don’t play until Sunday, September 24 against the Erie Seawolves (Tigers) for the Eastern League Championship. The Ponies recently beat the Somerset Patriots (Yankees) in the semi-finals to advance to the championship round.
