Rosario had a RBI Triple in the first inning and the 51s were able to score four runs in the first three innings in the game. Nimmo added the big blow in the fourth with a grand slam. Cecchini appears to be heating up, as the infielder has been hitting .355 over his last 10 games.

Matz threw 90 pitches in what appears to be his last rehab start before returning to the Mets. Taylor picked up the win for the 51s after relieving Matz. Robles finished the game and ran into a little bit of trouble in the ninth but survived.

Portland Sea Dogs (24-28) 2, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (31-20) 0 Box Score

Game I:

Not much offense in this one for the Rumble Ponies. They only managed five hits in the ballgame. Guillorme’s OBP has dropped to .336 following his rapid start to the season.

  • RHP Tim Peterson (1-2, 1.89 ERA): 1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 BB

Conlon went the first 5 1/3 innings scoreless before a runner reached on a throwing error by David Thompson. He proceeded to give up a home run to the next hitter which ended his night. His WHIP is 1.12, good for fourth in the league. He is also tied for the league lead in innings pitched.

Game II:

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (31-19) 5, Portland Sea Dogs (23-28) 1 Box Score

The Rumble Ponies got off to a fast start by scoring four in the first. Nido deposited his fourth homer. His hot May has spilled over into June. He only has 15 strikeouts on the season.

  • RHP Seth Lugo (1-1, 2.77 ERA): 7 IP, 6 H, ER, 8 K

In what was likely his last rehab start, Lugo turned in his best one. In his seven inning effort, Lugo fired 94 pitches and 67 strikes. He will likely join the team next week.

Hagerstown Suns (33-22) 4, Columbia Fireflies (28-25) 3 Box Score

Gimenez smacked his first home run since his debut in late April. The 18-year-old is now hitting .274/.349/.400 on the season and had a 16.7 percent strikeout rate heading into yesterday’s game. Lindsay’s OBP continues to creep up, sitting at .319 following two walks yesterday. The Fireflies had a 3-0 lead in this game before the pen blew it late.

Gonzalez went the first six innings without giving up a run but ran into trouble in the seventh. He gave up back-to-back RBI doubles but still got out of the inning with a lead. The following inning, Darwin Ramos came in and blew the lead and subsequently became the losing pitcher after Adam Atkins allowed a walk-off single in the ninth.
