The Syracuse Mets (22-35) had their game against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (29-27) canceled due to poor air quality. The series resumes Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. ET.

Double-A

Like the Mets, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (24-27) had their game postponed due to poor air quality against the Reading FIghtin’ Phils (20-31). They will resume their series on Thursday at 7 p.m. and makeup Wednesday’s game as part of a doubleheader on Saturday.

High-A

Brooklyn Cyclones (23-29) 7, Greenville Drive (29-24) 6

BOX SCORE

The Cyclones had at least one hit from seven of the nine hitters in the starting lineup. The star of the game was Parada. His solo home run in the bottom of the seventh helped give Brooklyn a 6-5 lead. Two innings later, Parada played the role of hero with a walk-off single. It was his second three-hit game of the season.

In other Mets top prospect news, Ramírez had multiple stolen bases for the second time this year, and he has recorded a hit in four consecutive games.

The Drive ended up scoring five of their six runs in the top of the fourth against Suarez, who had only allowed one hit in the first three innings. After that inning, Greenville scored only one run in the final five innings. Ankeney ended up getting the win in relief and he extended his scoreless streak to 13 innings without allowing an earned run on the year.

Before wet grounds suspended the game in the fourth, the Mets hit three home runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead.

In his abbreviated start, Cuevas had a season-high for strikeouts, but he also had a season-high for walks as well in his second start of the season (third appearance).

In the loss, the Mets as a team were 0-for-5 with men in scoring position, and they only recorded one extra-base hit, which was the triple by Mosquera. It is only three games, but the 19-year-old has recorded at least one hit in each game.

Mercedes was the star of this game on the mound as he recorded a career-high seven strikeouts in his FCL debut. The 19-year-old right-hander held opponents to a .197 batting average a year ago down in the Dominican Republic.

Ferrer also stood out in his FCL debut. Dating back to last season in the DSL, he has not allowed a run in eight of his last nine outings, and he only allowed one home run in 30 innings of work (18 games).
